This is just the kind of overlap I love between local history and local natural history.
Based upon the work of Rodney Burton who is looking at the common weeds in Hackney and comparing the plants with the Flora of the London Area (1976) and Dougie Kent’s Historical Flora of Middlesex (1975), there are some surprises about what plants were once considered rare enough to record every instance.
