Its deciding to opt-out…not sure of the pros and cons
Got one. Ironically two days after the 'system' lost my hospital appointment, after I had trekked to St Anns and a couple of weeks after I had rung the practice to find out about where I was referred to for another appt and was told they didn't know. So hopefully this will help

I am at a different Surgery and got the message. It helped me when I had a physiotherapy appointment on the 31st December. The Physiotherapist was able to log on to my GP file and had all of the relevant information she required. It is supposed to be safe, because you can see on the Patient Access Online site who accessed your file, the date and reason it was done. This is to prevent unauthorised people looking at your medical information. It worked well for me, because as a Senior citizen, I can sometimes forget all of my details in chronological order.
I'm not opting out, as one big problem for me with the otherwise fabulous NHS is the lack in joined up thinking and processing
I'm with Bridge House but they don't have a mobile number for me, so of course I wouldn't have seen this. However, when I spoke to the surgery today they said they hadn't sent any messages at all and advised me to ignore this HoL posting. Not exactly joined up. Looking at the web link, it's evidently run from Camden, but North London Partners must have got patient phone numbers from somewhere, so this isn't very impressive. It also raises the question as to how anyone (and there must be many) without a mobile is supposed to know about this scheme and, crucially, to opt-out if they want to do so.
It sounds like a sensible idea, but patients shouldn't be added to it just by default, especially as a previous similar national NHS database foundered once it emerged that the Dept of Health was planning to sell the information to insurance companies and other commercial operators ("anonymised", of course....).
I am also with Bridge House and at the moment not at all impressed with their performance! have been there since 1995 never any problems until very recently actually since Dr Hass left , i got that text message last week and this week i needed my medication but instead i was sent a text message informing me i could buy my medication from the pharmacy ? ..called Bridge House numerous times to be told the same ' you can buy that from the pharmacy'.The said medication is a controlled drug which can only be given with prescription ,i tried to get an appointment with the practice manager but was told i had to fill a form out at reception and he may call me ? then i found out today that they are not making any appointments there for patients but sending us to various different surgeries across the borough?? .I am not happy ,i live in Harringay and want a local GP not one miles away this is obviously connected to the initial text message to share information .
