Autumn, season of mists and mellow fruitfulness, and fungi. Lots and lots of wonderful fungi.
Over the past month I've been fortunate enough to working outside between Railway Fields, St Ann's Hospital grounds and at The Paddock. The fungi we've been finding are amazing.
St Ann's Hospital SINC
The Paddock, Tottenham Hale
Railway Fields
They are magical beings for the season of magic and mystery.
If you get outside this month for a walk either in the places I've mentioned or in other green spaces in the neighbourhood, look in the leaf litter, on dead wood and on living trees for fungi. These damp, warmish conditions are proving to be excellent for new types which are springing up in woodlands, meadows and even in the cracks in pavements.

Great, thanks. I've got a great couple from my partner's orchards in Wales. Will try to post later (in phone at present).
You sound like an expert. Is it rare?
