ALEX BONNEY TRIO Alex Bonney's new trio explores melodic, spacious original compositions alongside classics from Paul Motion, Ornette Coleman and others. The trio's intimate, acoustic sound and lightness of touch is made possible by master improvisers Jeff Williams and Olie Brice

RACHEL COHEN QUARTET Rachel Cohen hails from Scotland and has been a member of Tommy Smith's Youth Jazz Orchestra up there. At Birmingham Conservatoire she developed a very melodic and fluent style on the alto saxophone drawing on the bop and modal traditions. She leads a group that features Nick Jurd on bass, Jim Bashford on drums plus Andy Bunting on keys.
