The Council has a system where you can petition them if anything they contol 'affects the well-being of the borough'. For 1100 signatures, they guarantee an audience with a 'senior council official'.
No petition has ever got even close to 1100 as far as I can see from looking back - they system is relatively new.
What would be ideal?
How about a variable rather than a make-or-break system? Reportedly Harrow, for instance, change things if a mere 150 people petition them - is one of them worth ten of us? (maths:my bad)
We could hold sub-petitions (polls) on this site, to test the waters...
