Please note new venue
Haringey Council is planning "estate reviews", proposing to sell off, demolish and redevelop many of the council housing estates around the borough. The Council wants to add dense, new high-rise developments, as part of their regeneration plans, pushing up prices and rents, so that local people can no longer afford to live in our their own areas. The Council also wants to time-limit tenancies as a favour to the private developers: no secure tenancies for anyone under 60. And they want high 'market' and 'near market' rents. Council tenants have the best housing rights and most affordable rents. We need more and better council housing. Come along to the protest on Monday 9 June and persuade your councillors to ensure that council housing is not sold off. Protest organised by Haringey Federation of Residents Associations and supported by Haringey TUSC. Please contact if you are able to help in the campaign to stop council house sell-offs.
