Even the reviewer knew how to spell it. St Ann's.

Blimey.

The reviews seem to be of two types - those about the mental health services, especially inpatients, are terrible. Others, for the specialist out-patients, like it.

As they are anonymous, I wonder if it's developers looking forward to bulldozing the site? Probably not, but it's pretty depressing reading and has taught me that if I or anyone close has a freak-out, to go to the Whittington or Homerton.  I've found the screening clinics etc OK but it is all a bit grubby.  Nice trees.

It is very worrying indeed. There are all kinds of issues involved, including the meagre share of the NHS cake that Mental Health services receive currently, and whatever will come their way after the drastic changes taking place. More money would probably not solve all problems straightaway, but would make them more tractable.

The Trust who own the site understandably see the land as a cash asset which they hope will get them out of the current fix. The trouble with that approach is a) that it is only short-term; and b) that there is a desperate need for all kinds of health services in Haringey, not just Mental Health. If two-thirds of the site is sold there will be not a single large site in Haringey for facilities to tackle all the needs of an expanding population; including Child Health and Welfare, Urgent Care (to take pressure off bursting A&E departments), as well as the existing clinics for eye health, hearing, sexual health and cancer screening that are currently at St Ann's.

I find it really upsetting to read all those reviews, and I find it very interesting that the review I wrote a few weeks ago praising them in their excellence, doesnt actually show up- so i would say there is a bit of manipulation going on here

I have been under St annes since 1997, so i think that makes it 17y and had never thought to write on line feedback always prefering to do it personally to clinicians (call me old fashioned)- so my 1st thoughts are that those who are happy , dont look to review online but those that are p.. o..- will make a point to look online to complain

I have had excellent care. with joined up services leasing with each other how to treat me from the specialist services of St Annes some of which are the best in London. and centres of excellence-

as well as the eating disorder clinic now servicing the whole of north London probably with no extra money- so blame the government, not the clinic

Although I have to say the inpatient ward where disgusting- and during my last admission in 2002 I was so appalled I got the ombudsman into the place- to my knowledge they have closed most of the wards now- Im not sure how having no ward treatment to offer can be better than poor nursing inpatient treatment though

Yes ST Annes is deparately short of money but It serves so many  of us who would have no were else to go, or else we will have to joining the already overcrowded rundown hospital at Chase farm

long live ST Annes
