I see now that it had to switch tracks to be able to take that northbound curve - not a bit of line that gets used often (unless there's a lot of freight goes that way?).
One passenger train every Saturday morning (around 05:45!) to avoid having to go through closure procedures and a small amount of freight traffic. Also the Rail Head Treatment Train (water cannon - blue tanks with a GBRf diesel loco at either end) for a few more weeks to/from base at Broxbourne until the end of the official leaf fall season.

In the 60s, there were Sunday Steam excursions to Southend.. was always a treat for the kids..
