Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I was doing Park Run last week on Sat at Ally pally, when the route took us over what looked like a snake. As I was running I did not get much of a look. I went back afterwards and got these snaps of a 2m long snake that was starting to smell a bit wiffy!

One other runner said it was likely to have been a corn snake, possibly someone's pet...

I have never seen a snake before in the UK, this was certainly a first.

Very Crocodile Dundee...

Poor thing. :( This was someone's pet. It either escaped from its home or was deliberately released by some awful person. Either way it would have suffered a slow death being out in the open like that. Exposure, starvation, dogs, and horrible people are all threats to snakes that escape.

Corn snakes are completely harmless unless you're a rat or mouse. They're known for their gentle dispositions and are one of the most popular snakes in captivity.
