Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Is this some a kind of local drinking competition challenge or something?

It's what happens when you have to switch to a water meter I am afraid... To be fair, I say for a play to them in this weather! Not be long before they have to break the ice...

That was fair play... sausage fingers!

Is it possible to walk along the New River there, or are the gates padlocked?

Is that the new river at duckett road?

I have seen this guy actually swimming in the river before. Couldn't believe my eyes...

He got out and climbed over the fence into the garden the time I saw him.
Yup!
Padlocked. He climbed over the fence near the back of the old church building there.

Good on him!

OMG, leave the poor guy alone! Canadians have more choice for a fresh water dip. You guys have a zillion lakes! Have heart dear boy :)
Hey, I wasn't criticizing, just having a bit of fun. And as for Canada, ever heard of Siberia? Most of us live in a small strip south of the North American version of that, so not really *that* much room http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiga

So you could walk all the way along the New River from there to the pedestrian crossing at Endymion Rd without crossing a street. Wooo....

So long as you are 4 inches tall, yes.
Wild swimming hits Harringay... Or maybe he is doing a local version of that Burt Lancaster film where he swims across his neighbourhood by dropping in and out of pools and rivers.

Good luck to him, have no idea what the appeal of swimming in the new river would be - surely it's only a few feet deep?
