With a heavy heart I'm looking to sell my 6KU New York bike.
I'm 5'11" / 181cm so it's suitable for someone of similar height.
With a flip-flop hub so that it can be used as either a single speed or a fixie. I've only ever used it as a single speed though because I'm not that hip.
Eye-catching black and chrome combo with the chrome bits in top condition. Some scuffs to the frame but only what you'd expect on a used bike.
The chain and brake shoes were recently replaced so are in great condition as well.
Tyres are in good shape as well, but if you want fatter tyres for London's potholes, Brick Lane Bikes would be able to advise on which ones would fit the frame.
Current RRP for similar 6KU models is c.£400.
Also included:
- Brooks B17 saddle (in excellent shape!) (RRP £125)
- Bullhorn handlebars with matching Brooks bar tape. (RRP £42)
- Original flat bar also available if you like.
- Minimalist chainguard (RRP £25)
- Kick stand (RRP £15) - Somehow manages to suit the bike.
- Kryptonite D-Lock (RRP £55) - Accompanying cable available as well, though I never used that myself.
- Pinhead Anti-theft wheel lock for front hub with key (RRP £15)
- Ass-saver (RRP £10)
- Saddle rain cover (OK this one's a freebie for you)
- The saddle bolts are also secured with a hack which I'll explain when we meet.
The photo also shows a Hamax child seat base, which I'll remove.
It's been used for local riding for fun or errands, rather than regular commuting or serious riding, and maintained with love.
It really is an excellent, no-fuss city bike that's surprisingly fun to ride, with a very good gear ratio (unless you have a lot of hills to climb). I don't struggle to get over the Manor House hump myself.
Looking for £210 - which is 30% of what everything listed above would cost new (£687) - for a bike that really is in great shape.
Collection from bottom of Ladder.
