@Dave
I'm quite happy to cut my links Dave.. I got a lot out of Hol, met some nice people and also been happy and able to pass on my experiences there to those who weren't in the area back then..
contributed lots.. but of course, if you think it's too much then sure.. I won't comment any more..
BTW what have you contributed to HoL?
Men Women and children should all be allowed to pee wherever they are if they absolutely need to.
StephenBln please do not do anythingb rash. I love your posts as I am sure do may more HOLers. You often you rile people, you often rile me, but that is good that is what makes HOL quite such a good place to visit.
Come on you silly billys HOLeller chill out. pretty much each and every one of us is guilty of peeing in public. and i hereby pledge to one and all that If i am ever caught short on green lanes I will run off to finsbury park and tinkle behind a tree/bush/pitbull/american footballer/ german/wino/cottager/other person peeing etc etc. But obviously i will only do soon the hackey side of the park!
@Tunbridge Wells Thank you ... we'll see
@John D I did check back and yes, calling the police had to do with 'The guys and bins on Wightman' Two discussions with very similar titles running at the same time. Still, at least you could catch me out - so that made your day no doubt!
@Steffen.. We need to clear up a few things here:
1/ I have probably lived in the Federal Republic longer than you ever did/have - nearly 30 years! .. So you don't need to lecture me on that. And for those in N4 who don't know ...
2/there has always been tension between Saxons and Berliners.. the Saxons always felt that the Berliners got a better deal, especially in GDR times when strangely enough the majority of the Politbüro and party officials spoke with a saxon accent. Berlin is too liberal for most of them.
3/ That you choose to live in a country where you have less personal freedoms, where 'more people are banged up' than anywhere else in Europe, are more 'Überwacht' than you were in East Germany is your decision.. but I'm sure you have your reasons, but here is not the place for speculation.
Just stay off my back..
@Dave I presume that you were just the 'messenger' ?
Try this end of West Green Road. Every doorway has a pissing man in it. Stepping past the little floods is part of the street etiquette round here.
It does seem to be a failure of basic toilet training. Why don't they wear nappies?

Ruth, maybe we are being harsh. It says here that monkeys use their own urine to attract the ladies.
How about we stop making excuses for disgraceful and antisocial behaviour.
Oh the poor man, maybe he is a homeless alcoholic drug user with a gambling addiction, and he spends his time begging so he can get drunk and shout abuse at passing buses. Let's leave him to do whatever he wants, poor thing.
Actually that guy at least probably cant help himself, but he could at least make a short walk to the park.
But I have seen regularly men (and yes they are the ones that probably dont speak any English) pissing up against houses on my street on a weekend, then theyre back down to Green Lanes to hang around on the high street some more. A prostitute peeing in the middle of the street outside my house at 3am, a lady squatting in my front garden to piss. It's simply not ok.
Let's not make any mistake, if people have been brought up properly they shouldnt behave in that way.
If they dont know any better then they need to be taught, and shown that there are consequences.
On a weekend at night is one thing, but in broad daylight on a high street?
This kind of thing happens more and more until it is actively discouraged. It is all of our responsibility to stand up for our area and strongly discourage antisocial behaviour, either telling the person face to face, taking a photo and/or reporting it. I have returned home just now and there were 3 separate groups of wannabe gangsters on my road, up to no good. One group of 4 were insulted me in quite a threatening way. There are drug deals happening constantly in the passage, and I'm sure the flats at the bottom of Duckett Road are home to some very dodgy people, recently moved in. There are regularly cars with blacked out windows parked there and people waiting with their phones out.
How about we have a section of this site for reporting crime?
I'm sure hotspots of community complaints could be used by the police to make sure that foot patrols happen in the most needed places.
