Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

According to the BBC, someone was shot by police during a robbery on Green Lanes last night, around midnight. Not much more information given so far except that 5 people arrested and person shot appears to have been one of the robbers. Anyone know anything more?

Yes saw this on BBC Breakfast. The person shot is in a serious condition. Brief news here:

The story says that the shooting happened during a "police raid" and that the charges are on conspiracy to rob - so probably a robbery was being planned.
According to quotes on Sky News, it took place near the North Circular, nearer Palmers Green. Mind you, they've got the incident happening shortly after midday, as opposed to shortly after midnight, so not sure which source to believe.

Sky seem to be a bit confused about PM and "after midnight"
Their arrow on the map seems to show Harringay, not Palmers Green
Possibly because if you type Green Lanes Haringey into Google that's what comes up and a lazy journalist (surely NOT!) didn't then notice that the map didn't match up to the story.
This is from Charlotte Gray in the Haringey Independent
Hopefully you can trust a local paper to know where somewhere is...

This is the problem with designating this area Green Lanes. Everyone thinks something is here but in fact it could be anywhere between Stoke Newington and (in this case) Palmers Green.
Good point Liz, thanks.
And if anyone is till interested, the Sun has a picture in the wonderfully tabloid style headliner Man shot during anti-gun cop op
Ohh, "The watchdogs will investigate". Poor police! They shoot a robber, who - from what the BBC said, shot first. In "Serious condition"? GOOD!
Anette how do we know the person is guilty of anything - have you already forgotten the charles demenzes incident ? let the due process of law decide. then if he was guilty you can gloat all you like.
he is guilty.
anette i'm sad you think people are guilty before there's any proof.
am i right to guess you would dispense with the inconvenience of a trial ?
