Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Seven people were arrested yesterday morning in dawn raids on a cul-de-sac in Tottenham.

The police operation targeted suspected looters who ransacked several stores on the Tottenham Hale Retail Park during last week’s rioting.

Officers forced their way into seven homes in Bramble Close, seizing hauls of flatscreen TVs, mobile phones, designer clothes, laptops, and sportswear suspected of being stolen.

Seven people were arrested for a variety of offences including handling stolen goods, possession with intent to supply cannabis, cultivating cannabis, and possession of counterfeit money.

Officers also seized several thousands of pounds in suspected counterfeit money, some of which was found stashed in a washing machine.

Chief Superintndent Sandra Looby, Borough Commander for Haringey, said: "The events witnessed in Haringey at the beginning of last week do not reflect the borough that we live and work in or visit on a day to day basis, and the local community has been vocal in condemning what happened.

"This operation is an example of the proactive response that we will be continuing in order to identify and arrest those involved in the criminal behaviour linked to the disorder last week.”

Well they didn't have far to stagger with their load, Bramble Close is opposite the entrance to the Retail Park, with a handy pedestrian crossing to pause the bmw's heading back to their more distant lairs and enable the trolleys to cross the road.  BTW Do all those drivers know there's a camera just round the corner there?  Why would anyone be driving past it at 3.30 a.m, especially wearing a face mask?
