Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

There was a serious accident on Green Lanes at the junction with Hermitage Road at 8pm last night when  a woman and her baby were hit by a car.

Following a collision between two cars, one mounted the pavement, hitting a woman and her young baby in a pram.

They were taken to hospital where they remain with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Both drivers and three passengers have all been arrested and are in custody at a local police station.

Just saw the BBC report on this. Hope the lady and her baby are both ok (as much as they can be having been hit by a car). The report suggests one of the drivers legged it?

It made the BBC? Good grief. I didn't realise they covered such small scale stories.

Yup the bit between Hermitage Road and Manor House is scary, like north of the Salisbury people take advantage of the relatively open road.

Should we request for some sort of change (to make them safer) on these roads to our local councillors?

I don't think a 20mph would have helped in this case. If they scarpered they are not likely to have honoured the reduced speed limit.
It might only be a small scale story Hugh but very serious, mother is still in hospital although baby was discharged baby had to go back in.
