Scrap metal collection?
I have 3 big sheets of steel wire reinforcing grid which I want rid of, are scrap metal collectors still a thing or should I just get the council to do a large item collection?
Its got some sharp corners so I’m not sure if it’s ok to leave it out in the street.

In my experience if you leave them in your front garden they’ll soon be picked up

I payed for 'bulky items' collection from veolia haringey, put the cooker, washing machine out the night before in front garden it was gone within 20 mins. there's a couple white vans that patrol the area searching for exactly this kind of thing which they sell on for scrap value. felt confused about whether i had 'lost out' or not with the £20 collection fee 'wasted'.
