Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Have you heard about Haringey Council's plans to CLOSE OUR CHILDREN'S CENTRES including the Ladder Children's Centre?
Is there a young child in your family? Think about how these closures will affect them and please ACT NOW to let Haringey Council know that this is a bad idea.

It's a very serious plan which will mean that the remaining few (already over subscribed) centres will cover a much wider area. They will offer services for 0-19 year olds, rather than specialist support for 0-5 year olds and their families.
These centres currently provide an extremely important community service for families with babies and little children, antenatal and post-natal services, as well as support for vulnerable parents with nowhere else to go. Research shows that support for children in their first years can make a massive difference to their futures; closing our children's centres means Haringey's children will miss out on this vital support.

The consultation is open for only a few days more- Monday 19th September- please tell Haringey Council what you think

As a mum of a small child I have found our children's centres essential during pregnancy, baby check ups and drop-ins. We can't let them be shut down.

I totally agree Lucia - thank you for posting this. I completed a paper version of the questionnaire I picked up at South Grove a couple of months back. Believe me - I had alot to say on there!
