Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

For several months I have tried to get the attention of Sainsburys via Twitter. There are several lights in the car park that are out, including the pedestrian lollipop lights and the light at the pedestrian gate. As someone with terrible night vision, I feel this is dangerous. Sainsburys has repeatedly informed me that they have spoken to the Har(r)ingey manager who will take action, but nothing. Then I saw that there was a recent stabbing in that car park!

I guess I’m wondering if anyone else is bothered by this or if I’m just being a bit over the top. Or if anyone has a better way to contact them!

In the likely case there is more than one sainsburys car park in Haringey, I’m referring to the arena one by green lanes.

Sainsbury's is one of the stores that gets the difference between Harringay and Haringey - at least all their material does. So they shouldn't have an issue identify where you mean if you refer to the Harringay store. They do however have another Sainsburys with a car park on Green Lanes - in Winchmore Hill. So you may be better off sticking with the correct spelling (Harringay) and if you need a road location use Williamson Road. There's no such place as Harringey - it's either Harringay (the neighbourhood) or Haringey (the borough). More on that here.

Perhpas call and speak to the manager - name and number below.

Sainsburys seem to have deliberately cut off almost all their direct comms channels — if you have a problem with a product, for instance, there’s no phone number or e-mail address on their website and they told me they’d taken the decision to scrap a “customer services” contact system. Consequently, when I had a problem last year, I e-mailed Simon Roberts, the CEO, using contact details from ceoemail.com; obviously I didn’t hear back from him personally, but was contacted by a member of his team. My complaint was about disparities between published weights of fresh fish and meat and the products actually delivered, but given that car park safety is much more serious this might be your best route to actually getting the problem solved.
