Was just wondering if anyone else had tried to go to Sainsbury's yesterday afternoon. It took me about 25 minutes to drive from the top of Green Lanes to the Sainsbury's end. I could have walked there and back quicker, and if I hadn't been en route to East London I would have. When I finally arrived at the entrance to the retail park uniformed guards told me that there weren't letting any more cars into the car park because it was taking up to 3 hours for cars to exit onto Green Lanes, and people were getting so frustrated that violence had broken out! It all felt like a Ben Elton futuristic satire for a moment. Can anyone tell me, is this normal for a Saturday? I don't usually shop at the weekend if I can help it so I've never encountered this before.

Can you imagine how much worse this awful traffic would be if Wightman Road was closed to through traffic as one person has suggested...probably not a motorist.
There'll be a new mega Saiinsbury's opening in North Tottenham on the Spurs redevelopment soon. Maybe it'll relieve some of the congestion in that very badly designed retail park of yours.
It is amazing how, even for pedestrians, it is badly designed in that you have to walk quite far with your heavy grocery bags to access the buses. Where I lived previously in New Cross it was exactly the same. what planet do the designers live on?
