Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Rubbish bins at bus stops throughout the area seem to be used as collection points for the purple street sweepers bags.

This encourages local shops and residents to dump their rubbish alongside the bags.
Particular bus stops near me are Seven Sisters on West Green Road and Turnpike Lane Station opposite the common.

This morning I and others had to clamber yet again over bags to exit the bus.

I have reported the problem to the council so we will see if things improve.

Please report the issue if it is occurring in other localities.

PLeae look at this planning application and give an idea of what you think it really is. To me it looks like a collection of very small flats for Spurs fans!!! - all 285 units on one high rise development.Vive la regeneration of Tottenham.

The area needs a range of really affordable housing so that pepole can live decently. This is not what is being proposed by this development.

There is moderately sized collective student housiong in New Cross Gate where I leved before and it did loads to provide a steady stream of 'non-deprived residents' to add to the mix, although they don' have the biggest budgets. Because the housing is managed there are fewer problems with the maintenance and AS behaviour.

In Bruce Grove so many houses/family homes have been illegally converted into pokey flats by rogue landlords that there is never a day without a pile of old mattresses and furniture out on the streets. Older residenst are moving out or sadly dying off (a fact of life) and the houses  are being bought by these landlords so that there is no hope of stable community being maintained. They also have no regard for the period features and replace origial doors and windows with the cheapest upvc ones and so teh streets also deteriorate aesthetically from charming victoriana to bleak messiness. I won't mention the unexcusable lack of Council investment OVER MANY MANY YEARS into proper public realm and systems to support a reasonable quality urban environment. Now the cuts are being imposed they have a good excuse but what was it previously?

BLEAK!
