Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

In the interest of my sanity, I have removed my earlier post, on the subject of Veolia operative's total incompetence at cleaning our streets.  Ferry Lane Estate residents are quite obviously paying these staff to take unofficial breaks, and not to clean streets. The responses I've received here are extreme Left and like any extremist views, I simply haven't the time to bother. Youprobable agree with everything  James O'Brien on LBC has to say!  Baaaaaah!!  Political correctness (PC) has taken over and common sense has become a thing of the past.  Haringey, as a borough, has gone PC nuts. Let's all live in filth, heaven forbid that we should take strong measures to ensure Veolia gets the job done!

Did you need to put a photograph of the guy up for the whole of the internet to see?

Even if you blurred his face it wouldn't have been as bad, but jeez.

I don't think you should identify this street cleaner on a public forum. The guy works from 6 am till 12 noon without a break- thats terrible, I'm not surprised he needs a little time out.

Can I suggest that you send photos of the litter and vermin instead, and of the 'litter pick' that you organised, to the local papers, Veolia, council, councillor and MP to pressure them into providing the service that you need rather than a photo of the street cleaner.

Totally agree! Please can someone remove the photographs of the cleaner ASAP.

Did you ask his permission to take his photo and post it on the internet?  I agree that the service is crap, but if you'd been walking around picking up litter and sweeping the streets for 3.5 hours, you might want to sit down for a few minutes.

I don't think you should have put your address on there either.

Jeanette Sitton, please remove this photo of your street cleaner immediately. Or is posting this just another step in your "empowerment exercise"?  Veolia and LBH Haringey who gave them a rubbish contract are the problem, not your local street cleaner who does not have your simple minded means of empowerment.
