Following the driest May in England for almost 125 years and the sunniest Spring since records began, the borough's young trees are suffering.
The Council is asking residents to please help watering any young trees on your street. Resident action is needed to keep them alive.
Despite being included in a watering programme, recently-planted trees still need more regular watering in long periods of dry and sunny weather.
Any watering would be really beneficial to the trees. If you’re unsure as to how to go about it, the Council's tree experts have offered a few pointers:

The young trees at the corner of Warwick Gardens/St Ann's Road are not looking good at all. It is unfortunate that the closest corner has a big apartment building and then an empty shop across from it. Also the fast driving cars on St Ann's Road do not make it easy to carry water from across the street, but we'll try to do what we can.
