Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

hi,

I hope someone can answer this. We are moving house soon. We have resident parking bays outside the house from 2-4. Can we  stick a visitors parking ticket on the vans or do we need special permission.?

When a huge van full of furniture was moved into my place in 2007, I called the Council's parking office and, rather to my surprise, someone brought a special permit round to my house by car.  This authorised the van to park on the single yellow line right outside my house (on Wightman Road).  I don't recall paying anything for it.  I don't know whether a visitor's voucher would have allowed him to park in the residents' bays but that wouldn't been so great for the removal men.

Within the last month, the four resident's spaces - in front of our house and three to the right - were suspended for a day [8am to 6 30 pm] for a neighbour's house move.  The suspension notice placed on the resident's parking bay post, named the removal company.  I would contact Haringey and ask for the details of the procedure.

thanks, will do.
