Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Services of Remembrance and a borough Thanksgiving Service will take place in Haringey on Sunday 9 November, as follows:

10.45am, at the Wood Green War Memorial, High Road, Wood Green, N22 (opposite Haringey Civic Centre);
Civic Service of Remembrance; Mayor of Haringey Councillor Alan Dobbie in attendance.

10.45am, at the Tottenham War Memorial, Town Hall Approach Road, South Tottenham, N17;
Royal British Legion (Tottenham Branch); Deputy Mayor of Haringey Councillor Bernice Vanier in attendance.

10.45am, Hornsey Garden of Remembrance, Hornsey High Street, Hornsey, N8;
Royal British Legion (Hornsey Branch); Councillor Sheik Thompson representing the Mayor.

5pm, St Mark's Church, Ashley Crescent, Lymington Avenue, Wood Green, N22;
Borough Thanksgiving Service conducted by the Mayor’s Chaplain Father Simon Clark. Preacher the Right Reverend Peter Wheatley, Area Bishop of Edmonton.

Said Haringey Mayor Cllr Alan Dobbie:

“Remembrance Day is an important opportunity for all of us, old and young, to remember all of those brave men and women who have given their lives in service, not only in the two World Wars, but also in the more recent conflicts which are continuing even today.

“I hope that people will wear their Poppies with pride, and take the opportunity to pause and reflect at 11 o’ clock on Remembrance Sunday, and Remembrance Day itself, and join us if they can at one of the services.”
