I have an outdoor Ethernet cable that I need run from my hub to my garden studio. The cable needs wiring into a junction box, etc.
Can anyone recommend someone for this small job?

When we do it we mainly use electricians these days. As long as they know how to terminate the cable which most do, they are probably going to lay the cable externally better than a network person. Ask a few sparkies.
At work we used to get electricians to lay the cable but networking guys to terminate, electricians ought to know how to do that but often didn't.
If the studio has electricity you might find a powerline adaptor (e.g. TP-link) will eliminate the need for ethernet cable though, the adaptors piggyback the ethernet signal over the electrical wiring from the router to any electrical socket . The studio adaptor should also give some wireless signal in the garden.
Thank you, I’ve tried & failed with powerline adaptors, so going the hardwired route. Just don’t think I’ll manage the splicing & terminating! Will ask around some electricians
Powerlines can help in a pinch but there is nothing like a real hardwire. Do you just want the termination? Is the cable already run? If you are very close I might terminate it. That is all of 5 mins if you know how.
Hi, thanks for replying.
I need to fit 2 junction boxes, run an ethernet cable from my hub to one, terminate the outdoor ethernet to that box, run it down the garden to my studio then terminate it again at the box in my studio... If you can do this (for payment, obv) I would be really pleased!
Call me if you can. I'm on Warham Road. David: 07963 161 737
I would do the termination but not really interested in running the cable (I do have cable) but outside cabling can be a pain if you are not setup for it. Are you ground floor to the garden, will you go through a tube or how will the cable be protected. Most electricians under 50 will do cat5e (cat6/7) without blinking. Mice love cat5 and strip it so it needs protecting outside.
I’m not sure what cable I bought... will look into it. I’m on the ground floor, but will run it round walls and bury the cable as much as possible. I’ll look into this week & will contact you if I need help!
