Apparently it's known as The Wave; a hand waving and/or a wave(s) breaking upon the shore. That was the idea behind the artist's work. A number of people have even interpreted it as such ... without any hint needed. But you know how it is with art; each to their own interpretation. And why not too. :) Useful art it is too with it's seat, on the other side used by many.
