Railway Fields: work commencing on pond and playground

"I would like to inform everyone that there will be two lots of work being carried out at Railway Fields over the next couple of
months.   

Firstly, starting next week for one week only we will be renewing the old
pond with a natural clay liner.   This will make the pond last
a lot longer but also we are creating a bigger dipping platform so we can
accommodate more schoolchildren.   Please be assured that all
pond plants and wildlife will be removed safely and kept in tanks whilst
we dismantle the old dipping platform and pond.  

The second project involves a new bench seat, raised beds and two new
play equipment.   This work will commence the week beginning
Monday 29th March and will last for approximately four weeks.

Railway Fields will be open as usual but there will be work traffic and
some areas of Railway Fields will be restricted. 

Please feel free to come and visit while the contractors are working to
see the improvements being carried out.     If you
