Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

It's that time of year again.  My little tree has grown a bit and, despite the drought, has produced a fairly good crop.  We have harvested about three buckets full with just a few more left on the tree. Some will be frozen for future use and some will go for jelly or chutney.  Last year, I made some quince molasses which went down quite well.  We shan't be able to use them all, so do say if you would like a few.

I would love to have a few of your beautiful crop please. If there are any left that is. I am hoping to make some jelly.

Hi Dick,

I'd also love a few to attempt to make some jelly too if you have any left?

Thanks - I came for a few last year and would be pleased to get a few this year, too. Regards, Roslyn

If haff a dozen will do, you will be in luck.Come when you like.

They look fabulous? Is it right they have a wonderful aroma? Not sure where you are but would love one if still available and not too far. Thanks.

The Idea of quinces having a delightful scent is probably the result of confusion between these large yellow fruit and the much smaller fruit of the japonica bush. Those really do smell good.

Aha. Do you mean the ornamental quinces (chanomoles?)
