I can see them - Tuner and a couple of speakers - they are there.

Although I don't know what you mean by the " Daily Blah "

Hi Anna, I'm guessing what you mean by the 'daily blah' is the Latest Activity panel. The way we've set up HoL is for the newest 10 posts to be visible at the top of the home page,  with the newest 10 comments below that.

Because HoL is quite busy, it's difficult to maintain visibility for any one post for long; that's a downside of the busyness. The upside is that because things are busy (30,000 different people and 300,000 unique views every month) there's more likelihood that posts will be seen and responded to.
