PT training for young people in acting and other stagecraft at Bernie Grant Arts Centre
New training organisation YESS, (Youths Enriching Stage and Screen), is launching part-time training opportunities for young people from September at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre.
Six courses will be available - Acting on Screen, Behind the Screen, Musical Theatre, Shakespeare, Presenting and Hair and Make-up - are promised, each divided into 12 two-and-a-half-hour sessions culminating in the production of a short film.
The courses, which allow participants to work towards Arts awards Bronze, Silver & Gold, are intended as a top-up for students currently studying Drama/Dance and Film/Media studies at school or college.
There will be an open day on 4th June at the Bernie Grant Arts centre from 10.00am-1.00pm. 'Special guests' are billed and young participants are promised the chance to have a go at filming and performing while they’re there.
YESS is also running six one-week Musical Theatre Summer Courses from 25th July.
