like I said, you need ios8. I went to itunes and tried to download but was told must have ios8.....

For speakers of Earth language. Download will not work to iphone. Download to laptop etc in itunes and it will then sync to phone. Will not operate until ios8 is installed at future date.

It worked for me on the phone - just asked if wanted to download an earlier version.

Just solved the 'mystery' of why I can't download iOS8. Seems its not available for iphone 4 and earlier. Not sure if it means my phone's operation will gradually degrade or indeed if I am free from download misery!
