Ladder Safety organiser Ian Sygrave has been working patiently to secure a tree protection order for nine trees on Wightman road along the edge of Jewson’s depot near the junctions with Umfreville Road and Atterbury Roads.
These are five ash tree, two sycamores and three poplars. The council's arboricultural department has finally granted an order on the following grounds,
Ian commented,
This road has very few trees, and even fewer mature trees, which makes the cluster of trees running along the edge of Jewson’s depot all the more important. In addition, this site is earmarked for possible/potential redevelopment in the Local Plan, which makes the trees quite vulnerable to removal.
Whilst this TPO will take immediate effect, it still needs to be confirmed by the planning over the next six months.

This is good to know. It's true there are not many trees along the road and it would be very beneficial to all to have them. Thanks for your work Ian
I agee with KP and thanks to Ian Sygrave.
