Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Visitors to Lordship Rec will have noticed that the uncovered Moselle has often been polluted and smelly especially in the summer months. This is due to domestic plumbing misconnections from Muswell Hill to Tottenham.

The good news is that Thames Water and the Council have worked together to identify where the misconnections are and enforce correct connections and the work is almost complete, with work on a misconnected school soon to be carried out.

This, along with a maintenance programme to keep the river free of silt and the vegetation maintained, should make a huge difference to the state of the water.

Thanks for that. It has been revolting and let down all the brilliant improvements.

Alexandra Primary was the main culprit, with all of its sewage and grey water going straight into the Mozelle.

Works to connect to the sewer are to be completed by next week. The river should recover fairly quickly.

That's great news, thanks Liz. Always very sad to see the state the Moselle was in by the time it reached Lordship Rec - look forward to it recovering.
