Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This afternoon at about 3.30 I was on the 67 on West Green Road near the Stanley Road stop. I was standing near a door on a very crowded bus. A disabled man with a walking frame was trying to get off and somehow his frame ended up falling through the door to the pavement. One person got the frame and I held his arm to help him off the bus. My bag was over my shoulder at the time. When I got off the bus my purse had been stolen from my bag. Unfortunately, I think the two things may be related. I have seen this guy around the area - he has a very basic looking metal walking frame, dark hair, late 20s early 30s with slightly olive skin. I am sure he has a genuine disability - one of his hands was clenched in a claw shape - but I am also pretty sure this was no coincidence.

sorry to hear you got you purse stolen. Unfortunately pick pocketing is rife on London buses. I doubt if the two incidents are related, but a stroke of luck for the pick pocket who had his/her eye on your bag. I've had mine stolen a few times and now that I'm super aware of them have caught several pick pockets in the act either on me or other people. I have to say everytime I've caught some one they have been women both young and middle aged. They tend to have their hands hidden with shawls and bags and stand near the doors for a quick escape.
There are gangs that target bus stops. I have watched a few times people join the crush to get on a bus then turn back and don't get on the bus nor the next one. You really have to be aware. Underground escalators are another favourite. It's a big bad world out there.
