This week, decisions about how resources are allocated in parks for the next financial year will be made. We know that Ducketts Common is being seriously considered for funding, and in depth project management work for 2009/10, but any support you can give would be very welcome.
These are the achievements for Ducketts over the last year:
- a Friends Group has been set up, that has met regularly
- a new children’s playground was installed
- some of the overgrown trees have been cut back
- 100 people took part in a survey which helped shape our vision for the future
- the Friends Group has created strong partnerships with Haringey officers, in the Parks and Recreation Department, the Lighting Department and Better Haringey
- Ducketts Common will host the Haringey Green Fair on 12th and 13th June
Ducketts is a unique space in the heart of Haringey and has suffered (as have many parks) due to a lack of investment. We now believe the time is ripe to bring about significant change for this park.
Please email Paul Ely (Policy and Development Manager, Recreation Department) to show your support for investment in Ducketts Common.
