Beats the hell out of a sign saying "Ladbrokes".

I'm just the messenger here.

I get the planning lists sent every week. Am disappointed to see that from April the email nudge will disappear, replaced by me remembering to go to the LBH weekly list page.  So more of you may like to diary this in, you never know what could be about to pop up in your road and you won't necessarily get a direct mailing about it.

They're stopping the planning lists? Have they said why? Is there a note about it somewhere?

from this week's email - I guess this saves about half an hour of someone's working week:

Please find attached press list number 41 dated 30.12.13 to 12.01.14 – (Please note this list covers a 2 week period)

NOTE: Please note that as of April 2014 this information will only be updated directly on the website and no longer circulated via e-mail.

Below is the link where you can find the updated press list:

Such a nice  building, with its quirky "tower". Putting lights on it is a bit like putting fairy lights on your great grand-ma. Just for Christmas but definitely not for life!

Anyone have pictures of what it will look like? Also exactly where the boards will be? I did not understand description on planning webpage.

I wonder if lights and boarding will affect its use by filmmakers - they love the unspoilt building.

Johnson, I think this is about the Coliseum, the new building on the opposite corner to the Salisbury, and not the Salisbury itself.

Mock-up from the planning portal.

'Illumination' in planning just means a lit-up sign, usually a back-lit fluorescent panel.  They all need planning permission, though it does sometimes seem this info is not available to every shopkeeper.

Thanks Maggie, Pamish. What a relief!
