English Heritage have launched a campaign to help congregations to protect listed places of worship across the country. They are inviting anyone with an interest or involvement with an historic place of worship to tell them of the challenges they are facing or recent sucesses they have had. On 30 June they will be revealing the results of this research, plus initial findings from a survey to see how many of England’s listed places of worship are in a very poor condition – “at risk”. They will be launching a booklet, dvd and website with lots of practical advice for congregations and anyone wanting to help maintain these iconic buildings which add so much to all towns, cities and villages.
They are asking people to register on their website
here and also have
a Flickr group for adding pictures of listed places of worship.
In Harringay and and its environs, the Greek Orthodox Church on Wightman Road and in
Parish Church of St Ann's, St Ann’s Road are listed, as well as a number of other churches nearby.
