Does anyone recognise the red logo on the tail? It looks a bit like a crown ...

It's the logo of Japanese Airlines JAL and the plane is a Boeing 767.

no I think you are mistaken it is definitely a Paul Simon (lettings) board Circa 2001 so has been up for a only short amount of time.
