Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hello .....wondering if anyone can help

At this junction traffic can only turn left or continue straight onto Warham Road.

On Monday December 14th there was a diverted traffic arrow sign at the bottom of Warham Road instructing drivers at the lights on Salisbury Road to take a right turn onto Green Lanes.

On this day I was intending to continue straight up Warham Road, however I followed the diversion sign. Two weeks later I received a PCN. Now I’ve had my initial challenge rejected.

Did this happen to anyone else and have you by any chance got a photo of the sign. Without a photo of the sign I think I might as well pay the fine as it’s my word against the Council’s.

I've finally managed to get this matter sorted with Haringey. Thanks for all your help, especially Julie for providing the photo. Here's the reply from Stuart McNamara's office.

I have discussed it with the traffic management team, who have provided me with some more information on the situation. It  appears that the temporary diversion referred to was put in place by National Grid Gas when undertaking emergency work on Wightman Road between 5/12/15 and 8/12/15. This required the closure of Warham Road.

In emergency situations such as this,  the Council is not informed until after the event and the CCTV unit undertaking traffic enforcement would not have been aware of the temporary diversion. The relevant signage was not within view of the cameras.

However, your representations should have been more thoroughly investigated and the matter resolved at that point. The service have in the circumstances agreed to refund the charge paid and apologise for the inconvenience caused to you.

Good news Amir. The power of social media!

I wonder if they will also be refunding all the other people they issued with PCNs for the same offence the same day?

Hurrah, I'm glad they sorted it out, eventually.

Well done for sticking with it Amir!
