The photographers across the road from the Post Office (with all the wedding photos in the window) do them for around the same price as a photo booth, and with the added advantage that you won't get caught with your eyes shut, or grimacing. Otherwise, Sainsbury's has a booth.

Thank you. I had some taken in bethnal green but the man insisted on photoshopping the pic before printing them because I looked peculiar which, while kind, is doubtless illegal. I'll take my peculiar face up to green lanes and see how I do

Also the one opposite Umfreville Road; I've had good passport photos from there. On no account use the place in Wood Green Shopping City by Boots - my driving licence photo that I got there looks like one of the Kray brothers...

Would second Malcolm B's suggestion; think they're called Simkar's?? My son had his pic taken there this week, looks great. And agree with Maddy. Photo booth's and chemists should be avoided - lighting is awful. My current passport carries a pic which was taken in one of the chemist's on GL. Despite several attempts, it came out really dark, making me look like a terrorist on acid, has resulted in a fair few raised eyebrows at passport control and me saying: "Yes, it IS me; I really am half decent looking in good light!".

I have lovely new passport pics, thanks HOL. The name and directions were a little off so for future reference: It's called Simsak and is on the same side of Green Lanes as The Salisbury one block north.

there is a chemist nearest to the salisbury pub (same side) that does passport photos- cant remember exactly but cost about £3.60
