Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I'm doing some building work and need Party Wall Agreements with my neighbours. After looking on the Land Registry website I can see that one of the properties is owned by

THE MAYOR AND BURGESSES OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF HARINGEY of The Civic Centre, Wood Green, London N22 4LE

I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this previously and who they had sent the Party Wall Agreement stuff to, I'm not too confident that sending it to the above address would see it get to the right place. I've emailed the council but I'm not holding my breath for a swift turnaround.

Thanks

I would imagine that Homes for Haringey would be the people you need to speak to, assuming that this is a Council rented property as they manage all the day to day stuff.  They publish a staff list of who the contact is for each property on their website....

Is is for a loft? You may just loose a foot, steping your roof line in against the party wall.
Seek advice on that.

Thanks, I've contacted Homes for Haringey and I'm waiting to hear who I should be contacting.

It is stepped in but I still require the party wall agreement as metal beams will be going into the party wall.

Hi Andrew

Did you sort out getting your party wall agreement with the council? We need to apply ourselves, so if you have any info you can share it would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Yes, it was fairly painless once I actually got hold of someone.

You want to email Stephen dot Gallagher at homesforharingey dot org but you may need to call him a few times (phone Homes for Haringey and ask for him) to get it underway.

Hi Andrew

Thanks for the info, we really appreciate you supplying a short cut for us!

Best,

M

Sorry Andrew, I have another question! Assuming you used a party wall surveyor, can you recommend them?

I used Colin Rickard http://northlondonsurveyor.co.uk/ who appears to have been fine and is reasonably priced.

He is familiar with working with the Council so will possibly simplify things there too.

That's great, thank you!
