Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi

I'm trying to get some parking permits, but looking at the Harringay council website, it seems to suggest that permit parking is currently suspended / not required. I can't work out whether they mean that is throughout the borough or just around the council building?

Does anyone know?

Thanks,

Joe

Throughout Haringey ( the Borough )

6TH JULY  https://www.haringey.gov.uk/covid-19/council-services#parking

Parking enforcement will fully resume on Monday 6 July.

At the beginning of lockdown, Haringey Council stopped enforcing permit parking restrictions because we urgently needed to help critical workers and commuter parking pressure had reduced.

During lockdown enforcement has been limited to vehicles that were parked dangerously, blocked junctions or caused an obstruction.

As the lockdown eases, traffic volumes and parking pressures are increasing. Therefore we are almost at the point when parking enforcement must restart.  We have to a responsibility to enforce parking restrictions to:

  • keep roads safe and the network moving
  • prioritise parking space for those who most need it
  • help deliver social distancing measures
  • encourage active travel and deter unnecessary car trips
  • avoid parking pressure from outside Haringey as neighbouring boroughs restart.

You must have a valid permit by 6 July or you may receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).  In the meantime, we continue to enforce yellow lines and any dangerous or obstructive parking.
