This morning all councillors got an Open Letter from the Haringey Alliance for Public Services.
I've attached it so HoL members can read it in full. I won't attempt a summary.
The letter rightly condemns "the massive cuts to front line services affecting many of the most vulnerable in our communities". It "urges all of us to "speak up for the public good". And says we should "refuse to make cuts" and not be: "doing the Government's dirty work for them".
(Tottenham Hale ward councillor)

"The point being?"
The point is that I'm trying to be helpful. You may disagree with or even deplore Dave Morris and all the other groups and people involved with HAPS. But you might at least try to treat their convictions, ideas and suggestions with respect and consideration. Not belittle people as "nutjobs" and dismiss their views just because they are "hardly mainstream".So the rep of Friends of Downhills Park happens to also be a rep of Unison and is a member of a political party, how can one person do so much! At least he's out there actively representing union members in the public sector and he's also supporting Downhills Park; is that somehow incredibly reprehensible?
That leaves Broadwater Farm Residents Association, Bounds Green Ward Labour Party, CoHenel University and College Union, Communication Workers Union, Defend Haringey’s Health Services Coalition, Find Your Voice Campaign, Haringey Federation of Residents Associations, Haringey Forum For Older People, Haringey Friends of Parks Forum, Haringey Green Party, Haringey Health Unison, Haringey Solidarity Group, Haringey Trades Union Council, Haringey Unison Branch, Lordship Rec Friends Group, NATFE, Noel Park North Area Residents Association, North London Community House (Day-Mer), Sustainable Haringey and Unite for you to be paranoid about.
