I was just off to do my shopping when a carnival appeared in Green Lanes. Hundreds of children singing "One Love, One Heart, lets get together and it'll be alright" and chanting "We love Tottenham" and "We want peace". It was enough to make the most cynical of hearts melt.
Thank you to all the children and staff of St Mary's priory Schools, Hermitage Road, you made my day and left a lot of smiles along green Lanes.

Thanks for these pictures Maggie. Here's a few words on this from the Independent:
Children at two Harringay schools will hold a peace march this afternoon in a bid to raise money for victims of August's riots.
Pupils at St Mary's Priory Infant and Junior Schools in Hermitage Road will be holding a mini-carnival from 2pm, where t-shirts, food and drinks will be on sale.
Parents and staff will then join the children for a parade along St Ann's Road to Green Lanes.
Headteacher Florence Collins said: “We want to demonstrate the wonderful citizenship and collaboration that we know exists here.
“We would like to help those of our community that suffered as a result of the troubles in the summer, and any money we raise will be donated to those organisations that are supporting such victims.”
This is wonderful and we should thank the staff and pupils of the school that organised this. They are telling us something that we have missed from individualistic, greedy and self centered life that is plunging our nation. The more we embrace each other as brothers and sisters and care for one another we will reclaim the sanity, love and community sense that have made this nation to be great.
I also thank Maggie that took these beautiful pictures and shared it with us all. Let us preach peace, love and care and will get there in unity. Little little positive and encouraging words like will change people better than bashing, condemning and blaming people
