I read the article.  It's a load of cobblers -- just gobsmackingly stupid and making all sorts of ignorant assumptions.

Richer people smile a lot more???? What a complete heap of horse manure.  You get more smiles walking past people in any Tottenham street than you would walking through Hampstead or St. John's Wood.  Smile at people there and they are likely to call the police.

Less stressed?  Some years ago my tyre blew while I was driving along Winnington Road.  I changed the tyre and then realised that my hands were covered in oil.  I went to the nearest house, knocked on the door and when I finally got to talk to someone through the doorphone, I explained what happened and asked if I could wash my hands.  They were TOO FRIGHTENED to open the door to me (a woman with two small children in the back of my car).  But after a while they pushed a cake of soap out through the letterplate and told me I could use the garden hose.

Beautiful????  Bah, humbug.

Nothing to worry about, folks. This is an unbelievably crap piece of "research". The sample size is far too small to produce a statistically significant result, even were that sample random. Which it is not, as it is a self-selecting group. Also, the question considered is entirely without realistic definition. A meaningless piece, space-filler for the Guardian, just confirming the middle class prejudices of the journalists and editors of the newspaper.
