Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This from the Muswell Hill Odeon website -

The final curtain call at ODEON Muswell Hill

Since 1936, ODEON Muswell Hill has brought the magic of film to the local community, and throughout that time we’ve become a local landmark and shared some incredible, unforgettable moments with our guests.

From the early years of the talkies, through Hollywood’s Golden Era and right up to today’s high-tech, 3D, digital blockbuster world, you’ve been alongside us all the way on an amazing voyage of cinematic discovery.

However, from Sunday 21st June, while the cinema will remain open, it will no longer be an ODEON cinema.

Nonetheless, we can continue that fantastic journey together at your nearest ODEON. We look forward to seeing your there soon!

Who is running it now ?

I think it's already reopened as a Curzon, or perhaps another "indie" chain.

Yes, the Everyman have bought both Muswell Hill and Barnet Odeons.

Thanks. Can't see anything on the Everyman site about pensioners' matinees. It wasn't just the cheap seats, or the free tea/coffee and biscuits at the Odeon but there were no advertisements and no trailers - straight into the film.

And I hope they don't change the traditional Odeon décor.

The Everyman General FAQs say  Silver Screen is a weekly matinee screening of a current release for our film fans ages 55 and over. Ticket prices include a free hot drink and a slice of cake or cookie.

But as to times at Muswell Hill, can't see anything. Phone or go I suppose.....

The cinema has been listed Grade II* since 1984 (listing text here) so there will be restraints.

Extract: The Odeon, Muswell Hill, is the most elaborate interior of any Odeon cinema to survive. Because of the restrictions placed on the external facade, the opportunity was taken to make the interior more lavish than was usual in the Odeon circuit, and the result is an elegant design of unusual imagination and crispness.

Thanks Gordon.
