I could not get to the end of Ms Mangan's article because of a sense of overwhelming boredom at such lazy and unproductive journalism. It was just a string of platitudes held together with some feeble jokes. That she gets paid for such idle comment is shameful.
I'm not sure what our sisters who fought so hard for a woman's right to vote would make of Lucy's lazy drawl about voting being an excuse to get out of the office. Actually if she got out of the office a bit more and had a look at the world beyond the Guardian life and style pages, she might find that politics is in everything we talk about: betting shops, schools, traffic etc and that our responsibility does not stop the minute we have voted and gone back to our desks. I could compile a list of 50 kids books, doesn't make me a child or have childish views. Think many children's books actually teach that you have a responsibility to think for yourself and act for good.

She probably cut and pasted them from someone else. That article had the air of being C&P from the more negative additions to the Comment is Free page. I'm imagining a deadline was looming and she'd spent the week playing Farmville on Facebook...
