Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The Council has proposed implementing new street cleaning arrangements in Harringay. Attached are details for each road.

The spreadsheet (attached in both xls + pdf formats) shows when a "litter pick" would be done on your street and when it would be swept. The new sweeping arrangements would apparently mean that a team of 4 sweep together rather than one person on their own.

Each activity on your street is shown on a separate line. TTS = Team sweep, LP = litter pick, SATLP = Saturday Litter pick.

Hello,
I read in the recent issue of "Haringey People' that there is a Clean Sweep program operating in the borough (see page 12-13 of Oct issue).
One of the things mentioned as part of this program is Community activities such as tree planting, walk abouts with residents to spot problems with pavement, lighting, overgrown hedges etc.
Ive written the council to enquire more about how this is actually coming to fruition, but if anyone hears any further detail, please let me know.

Apparently, residents can sponsor a tree. The council will plant a tree on your street or in a park of your choice (for a cost) and you expected to care for it. Nice idea.
Wightman Road is not to be cleaned in future?
Yes, Dick. Seems our road is not only not on the Ladder but not even in Harringay. We are the untouchables, beyond the reach even of the sweeping caste.
Oh, for goodness sake, give over Mr Finnegan. Your road was missed off by the council. Flay my back raw for failing to notice!

I'll see if I can get the info. - but have to admit the good grace of your comment challenges my will to do so. :o|
Which branch will you contact? Is there an officer co-ordinating whip rounds for birches ala Parnish's? Eddie, you know we're in Harringay at least for one day in September!
Have now recontacted - Environmental Resources. Why do you ask?
@Mr Flouch. Now who was that suspected they might be suffering from a humour failure only yesterday? I thought I was just having a little hyperbolic go at the Council's oversight. Didn't know HOL was running the street cleaning - honest.
:)
In that case my apologies for being grumpy - it's just been that type of week.
I'm afraid the following was the best I could get:

"The reason why Wightman Road is not on the schedule is that is a main through road therefore receives increased levels of sweeping in comparison to other residential roads".
I have ordered a street tree to mark my 60th birthday, a birch. Costs £170. Have yet to hear back from the depths of Riverview House. Will let you know if and when.
What if a street does not appear on the list?
Ours doesn't
