Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We're hearing rumours that a new organic cafe/deli may be opening in the former dry cleaners on Wightman Road near Harringay Station.

That would be nice wouldn't it.

Yes, but there would be absolutely no passing trade there and I don't know that they'd manage to survive. The one that opened recently right on Green Lanes didn't stay in business very long.
It would be GREAT to have a nice cafe there!!! I don't agree that they would not survive in that location. The Spanish restaurant La Vina seems to be doing quite well. I think it's just what we need round here and I am sure it could be a success if done well
I think the people on the other side of the 'tracks' will use it regularly as would I and commuters wanting a morning coffee. Big up the deli!
It would be even better if they gave me my dry cleaning back .....
This would be awesome! as I am passing there every day from the train station.. and I guess lot of people do.. so if they would serve coffe (as well) in the morning they potentially could make quite good bussines. I guess
Yes it would be great - please let me know when it opens,

cheers,
j
Yes wightman road is a bit of a dead spot at the moment. Imagine an alternative high street completely different from green lanes. Wouldnt that be amazing! I would definitely use it. I still love cafe lemon, but it doesnt have the same vibe recently. +1 for organic deli :)
Like my Wightman neighbours I look forward to the new development. I had hoped that we would have a new Betfred there instead, as the first of a cluster of betting shops, but let's settle for a string of cafes and pavement car-repair joints instead. As for turning us into an alternative high street, Yan, ours is (as you know) a peaceful residential avenue free of traffic and loud nightlife; we'd like to keep it that way.
Let's have some hippy head shops and street vendors selling photocopies of banksy paintings!
Great idea! Would be a lovely addition to this end of Wightman Road and should pick up quite a lot of custom from the people both side of the bridge who use the station.
Great to here this Hugh. It's just what we need. Maybe this will be the beginning of a shopping transformation for the area. It all started with one great cafe/shop in East Dulwich and now look at it. 10 years on admittedly but it has to start somewhere. I will use the deli on my way to work and back even if I don't need anything, just please open it whoever you are.
That will be very nice. I look forward to being able to pick up some nice bits and pieces on my way ome from the station
