Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Just spotted as I staggered past with bags of shopping that the new cafe where Haringey Flooring used to be has opened and is serving free coffee (if you go today 23rd April).

The cafe appears to have a large play area for kids out the back and comfy chairs etc at the front. As I was only passing, I couldn't go in (or take a decent photo it seems) but initial feedback from the mum of a youngster who was coming out was that's it's nice.

Anyone tried it today?

Blimey, is this a case of the HOL citizen reporters slipping on the 'what's happening' front. Did we know this place was on the horizon, or are there so many new cafes opening that we just can't keep up?  Who's running it? Is it kinda opp the Salisbury?

PS. maybe it's a case of too many people perplexing over on the Wood Green thread. Don't worry folks, it's all clearly happening on The Grande Parade.

Yes I did. Didn't you spot the refurb? It was giving nothing away but today it's ready for action.

Maybe you can get on your bike Matt and do a quick report of your own?

It's because the GLSG have disbanded.

Nah, I think it's been mentioned once or twice in other threads.

Having just come from Blend and noticing the new cafe I feel it could be more Cafe Lemon in ambience, branding and decor. More DFS than Nordicana. However will test first.

Just wait. That window will be packed with random signs by the end of the week.

I nursed a profound, if unrequited, passion for Haringey Flooring. Used spend whole mornings browsing their bound volumes of bathroom vinyls. More satisfying than leafing through the Folio Society's limited letterpress editions of Shakespeare half-bound in buckram and Sahelian goatskin.

So no one has actually tried it yet then. Guess I'll have to go in myself then.

 Very comprehensive feedback!

Of course, Russell has already been in and answered my question

I was passing with my 3 year old and it caught my interest so went in for a look, ended up staying for a bit as my little one taken with the play area.  I was impressed - great to have something like this on the doorstep, will definatly be going back.  The staff were really friendly and the decor nice and fantastic to have something different here too.

Oh dear the owners made a massive mistake by not promoting this place on HoL first I've noticed thats the only way to go (think: Harringay market, Blend, Jam in a Jar, etc)
